Star Insure Southern Motorcycle Show
About Us
Our Background
Started by passionate locals, the Star Insure Southern Motorcycle Show promises to provide a platform for the public to view not only the latest motorcycle models and related products, but also glorious examples of classic and vintage motorcycles. Funds raised by the Southern Motorcycle Show will directly benefit New Zealand charities while also creating a distinctly Southern event that supports the local community.
Charitable Giving
This is a Rotary and OMCC charitable fundraising event with the proceeds being used to support local charities in our community.
Rotary Club of Dunedin South, Charitable Trust
The charitable trust funds are used to provide youth programmes for students in the city. Rotary exchange students between 16 and 18years of age can spend a year abroad with host families attending school and gaining an understanding of different cultures.
The Rotary Youth Leadership programme provides an opportunity for young people to spend a week of leadership training with mentors and attendees provide a community project.
The club provides support for children with autism with weighted blankets, local primary schools receive hi-vis vests for pupils. The club supports meals on wheels and provides funds for many community-based charities and projects.
The Otago Motorcycle Club (OMCC)
The Otago Motorcycle Club (OMCC) was established 1946 to “encourage the sport and pastime of motorcycling and the promotion of sporting and social events in the furtherance of these objects.” Over the seventy-seven years since inception OMCC motorcycle enthusiasts have organised and participated in hundreds of race meetings, track days, rallies and social events. The OMCC supports local charities and organisations including, but not limited to:
